Did you know that jazz originated in the United States in the early part of the twentieth century?
The first recordings were made in 1917, and the music quickly spread around the world.
If you would like to enjoy a night of jazz near Lombard, visit one of these clubs near City View at the Highlands where you’ll see some of the best artists in the country:
The Blue Note
The Blue Note boasts that it’s as swanky as a New York City jazz club in the 1940s and 1950s. It’s one of the western suburbs’ most popular nightlife destinations. The club is the site of many first dates and special occasion celebrations. Along with the live music, visitors also enjoy professional DJs and the Sober Comedy Show on the first Sunday of every month.
Andy’s Jazz Club and Restaurant
A local fixture since 1950, Andy’s started from humble beginnings. The first shows were performed without a stage, ample lighting, and much amplification. Today, the club welcomes the best artists in Chicago. Each night brings four lively performances starting at 5:00 p.m. In the kitchen, the chefs create a varied menu using the finest, freshest ingredients. Offerings include Hubbard Street tacos, red lentil primavera, and Cajun shrimp risotto.
Winter’s Jazz Club
Featuring live music six nights a week, Winter’s is an intimate club with 100 seats. It’s Chicagoland’s newest destination for live, classical jazz, and strives to offer the best arrangements of the most popular songs. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and guests enjoy the cozy feel. Behind the bar, the bartenders pour a perfect drink. They create both traditional and one-of-a-kind beverages and offer unparalleled service.
