New to the Chicago area or not, picking between the many Lombard apartments can be a tricky endeavor. Some people are fixated on a specific district and refuse to let anything deter them from their desired location. However, if commuting to and from work is not closely considered when choosing your apartment, life can become stressful.
In fact, saving on rent does not extend budget margins if commuting becomes a great expense. But a well-placed community like City View at the Highlands is just the ticket!
Lombard is the Best Residence for a Progressive Lifestyle
Lombard is centrally located in the Northwest Suburbs area of Chicago. Thus, it offers endless opportunities for both high-energy days and low-key, leisurely days.
In addition to larger chain-restaurants located in every direction within and around Lombard, smaller, privately owned venues are a delightful aspect of the Northwest Suburbs landscape. Of course, outside of cafes and dining, there are a variety of entertainment options to appease anyone!
For example, history and architect connoisseurs enjoy touring Maple Street Chapel, built in 1870, and the classic cinema experience of the Tivoli Theater in Downer’s Grove. The theater was built in 1928 and is truly an original beauty. English literature fanatics flock to the Wade Center at Wheaton College, which houses J.R.R Tolkien’s original writing desk and other fantastic literary artifacts. Nature lovers enjoy the Morton Arboretum in Lisle or an afternoon at Wheaton’s Cosley Zoo, where injured wildlife have found a permanent, comfortable place to call home. There’s something for everyone.
Perhaps you’re more concerned about the drive to and from work from Lombard apartments, however? No worries – there are a number of options you can utilize to get around Chicago.
The Commute to Work Made Easy
If working downtown, the commute to the city is made easy due to the many train stations. The Metra’s Union Pacific/West Line station in Lombard is located on S. Main Street. However, all of the surrounding towns offer easy access stations as well.
This means that a resident living in Lombard but working in another township and not the city may also choose to use the Metra instead of driving to work. The town of Wheaton, for instance, has two stations–a station on Front Street, and one just off the campus of Wheaton College on College Ave.
